Netflix used Manchester Memorial Hospital in Connecticut to film a scene for the upcoming holiday drama The Noel Diary starring Justin Hartley, Bonnie Bedelia, and James Remar.

The movie, set for release during the 2022 Christmas season, is based on the Richard Paul Evans bestselling novel.

Eastern Connecticut Health Network spokesperson Nina Kruse said, “Crews occupied an area in the hospital where the facility sees an excess of patients,” said Nina Kruse, Eastern Connecticut Health Network’s Chief Communications Officer. “There were strict COVID-19 protocols in place on the closed set to ensure safety.”

Everyone was tested and checked-in wearing masks during their time on the hospital campus whether they were vaccinated or not. A nursing unit, parking lot, and rooftop were dedicated to the film crew so as not to disturb hospital operations.

“We are pleased to be helping another industry achieve their goals while continuing to focus on our mission of providing high-quality, compassionate care,” said Kruse. “We look forward to seeing the film once released and celebrating our participation.”

The Netflix crew members were onsite June 25-26, 2021.
