Waterbury Hospital Staff in Conneticut Helps Victims After Major Fire
July 8, 2020

After witnessing a devastating fire that left 35 members of the community homeless when two nearby residential buildings were destroyed, Waterbury Hospital Auxiliary created a Go Fund Me Page with all funds going to buy furnishings and needed items for the families. Additionally, Waterbury staff provided meals, water, and a place to receive help while being provided services by the American Red Cross Connecticut.

Waterbury staff worked with the Red Cross to collect information from those affected; God Provides Ministries, a charity run by Personal Care Assistant Joseph Ochieng; and the Waterbury Hospital Auxiliary. The group created an assistance plan that includes collecting clothing and other essential items at Waterbury and other locations.
