On May 22, 2021, Eastern Connecticut Health Network physicians and caregivers, family, and friends gathered at both Rockville General Hospital and Manchester Memorial Hospital hospitals for NAMI Walks Your Way to raise awareness for mental health illness.
ECHN sponsored this walk in support of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Connecticut as part of Mental Health Awareness Month. NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health advocacy organization, which strives to eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness through education and awareness.
ECHN has an extensive network of behavioral health services and provides individuals and their families with continued resources for mental health education and support.
The same week, Manchester Girl Scout Troop #10644, in partnership with NAMI, donated 100 care packages to ECHN’s Behavioral Health Units for Mental Health Awareness Month. (Pictured above on right.)
Patients received care packages that included therapeutic and practical items such as journals, hand-painted grounding stones, and a community service resource guide.
ECHN is grateful for Girl Scouts Troop #10644’s compassion and care, and for taking action to help others.
