New Hybrid OR and Interventional Room Opens at Waterbury Hospital in Connecticut

Last week, Waterbury Hospital held an open house in the new hybrid operating and interventional room with different specialties at the Connecticut hospital. The open house included demonstrations of the capabilities of the technology inside the room. The room is equipped with the ARTIS pheno, a robotic C-arm angiography system from Siemens Healthineers created for use in minimally invasive interventional procedures. It uses different booms with equipment that can be used by the different specialties using the room, software that can store waterpreferences of each doctor and team, and the latest in imaging technology to help doctors and patients.

The new room will be used by different disciplines including cardiac vascular, cardiovascular, interventional radiology and electrophysiology to help patients with lifesaving and life enhancing interventional procedures.

This is Waterbury Hospital’s second interventional cardiology suite, and it is expected to offer new services and enhance already great cardiac services to patients, among them transaortic valve replacement.
